PHOTOconversion for Novel Integrated X-systems (PhotoniX)

#

PhotoniX technology could enable a wide range of applications, including space systems and autonomous sensing, biomedical laser technologies, environmental monitoring, remote sensing and LIDAR, optical communications, and advanced laser-based manufacturing. By enabling direct solar-to-laser energy conversion, the project opens new possibilities for compact, energy-autonomous photonic platforms operating in remote, space, or energy-constrained environments.

PhotoniX is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme through the European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder programme under Grant Agreement No. 101258550.

In PHOTONIX, Lumoscribe serves as Technical Coordinator, WP6 Leader, and the partner responsible for system integration and component development for solar-pumped fiber lasers. The project aims to develop a new class of solar-powered fiber lasers that directly convert concentrated sunlight into coherent mid-infrared laser radiation, enabling energy-autonomous photonic technologies.

Lumoscribe contributes its expertise in optical fiber technologies, fiber laser systems, and photonic prototyping to support the development, integration, and validation of key components required for the project’s solar-pumped fiber laser platform.
