The project PDTenhace aims to develop new strategies to enhance the effectiveness of PDT by (i) utilizing fiber-based optics for real-time oxygen measurement and improved light delivery, (ii) identifying mechanical-based biomarkers for assessing PDT outcomes, and (iii) creating a novel therapeutic approach combining TME normalization (with anti-fibrotic drugs that remodel and normalize TME) with PDT to increase its efficiency by overcoming TME barriers.
