Last week marked a special moment for us at Lumoscribe.
The 39th Panhellenic Conference on Solid State Physics & Materials Science took place right here in Paphos — and we had the privilege of being both an organiser and a sponsor of this long-standing scientific gathering.

Bringing together researchers, students, and professionals from across Greece and Cyprus, the conference created a lively space for the exchange of ideas, new results, and emerging perspectives across physics, materials science, and photonics.

A Memorable Meeting for Our Local Scientific Community

Hosting the conference in Paphos meant a lot to us.
We had the chance to welcome colleagues and friends to our home city — to share its atmosphere, its hospitality, and the growing energy of the local research community.

Over several days of presentations, poster sessions, and informal discussions, the conference reminded us once again how valuable it is for scientists to meet face-to-face, challenge ideas, and build new collaborations.

Lumoscribe’s Contribution

During the event, our team presented some of our latest results in mid-IR photonic components, including advances in specialty fibers, Bragg gratings, and emerging sensing technologies. The conversations that followed were inspiring and highlighted the growing interest in mid-IR photonics across different research areas.

We were grateful for the opportunity to share our work and learn from others, and we look forward to deepening these connections in future projects.

A Sincere Thank You

To everyone who attended — thank you for your presence, your talks, your questions, and the overall positive spirit you brought to Paphos.

We hope that beyond the scientific programme, you also enjoyed the city, the sea, and the unique atmosphere that Paphos offers.

Looking Ahead

Community, collaboration, and curiosity are at the heart of scientific progress.
We’re proud to have contributed to this year’s conference, and we are excited for what comes next — both for the event series and for the research directions it inspires.

Until the next edition, we remain committed to supporting and advancing photonics, materials science, and solid-state research across the region.
